About — The honest version

15 years in the trenches.

Now I help you skip the pain.

Paris internships. The Montreal road. Sydney credits on blockbusters you've watched.
Two near-burnouts. A pivot to teaching. Here's the whole story.

Years

Projects

Continents

I'm Greg. I've spent 15 years putting cameras in imaginary places, on Dune: Part Two, Furiosa, Fast X, Game of Thrones, and roughly 50 other projects across Paris, Montreal and Sydney.

I started as a hard surface modeling intern when I was 23, convinced I'd be the next great cinematographer. I wasn't. What I became instead is more useful: someone who can look at a half-broken sequence and tell you, in five minutes, exactly why it isn't landing.

Two burnouts taught me the part nobody talks about. The endless revisions. The supervisors who change their minds at week 11. The quiet fear that maybe you just aren't good enough. I almost left the industry. I stayed because I figured out a different way to work, and a different way to coach the people next to me.

Now I do it on purpose. I run a small mentoring practice for indie directors, and teach layout and visual narration to ARTFX and E-artsup graduates. The promise is simple: you won't make the mistakes I already made for you.

The road so far

Three cities. Two burnouts.

One thing learned every year.

2008 — 2014 · Paris

The Early Years

Internships while still in school at Mac Guff, Xilam, and Illumination. Coffee runs turned into prop modeling, texture, then layout. First real shots on Despicable Me 2, The Lorax, and French TV. Learned raw talent without rigor gets crushed fast.

2014 — 2018 · Montreal

The Montreal Road

Moved to Canada. Layout artist at Rodeo FX, L’Atelier Animation, and early Mill Film. Ground out features and animation. Built real pipeline skills, ran sequences, and saw how pre-production chaos quietly kills projects. Burnout #1 was the tuition.

2019 — 2023 · Montreal

The Blockbuster Era

DNEG Montreal. Promoted to Lead Fast X. Dune: Part Two, Furiosa, Fast X, Aquaman 2, Game of Thrones, and more. Fixed the same expensive pre-prod mistakes on $200M+ shows.

2023 — 2024 · Sydney

The Sydney Chapter

Never miss a good opportunity. Short DNEG stint on Furiosa. High-intensity layout in Australia. Proved I could deliver anywhere at competitive rates. Burnout #2 arrived as a bonus.

2025 — Today · Worldwide

The Mentor Pivot

Back in Paris. Teaching layout and visual narration at ARTFX Lille. Watching final-year students repeat my old costly mistakes. Pivoted to no-bullshit consulting for indies who refuse to die in revisions hell.

My edge

How I actually work

Big-studio cinematic eye + real teaching empathy + zero ego about your film.
Four principles I refuse to break.

01

Story first. Always.

If a shot doesn't serve the emotion, it doesn't ship. No exceptions, no 'cool factor' debt.

02

Multiple paths, never one truth.

I show you 2–3 viable directions and help you pick the one that's truly yours. I'm not here to make your film look like mine.

03

Empathy is not weakness.

I've burned out. Twice. I know what revision hell does to a director. I'll be direct, but I'll never be cruel.

04

Rigour over taste.

Taste is subjective. Pacing, camera logic, and visual clarity are not. I teach the parts that can actually be measured and fixed.
