Ø Director's Sidekick
I turn chaotic pre-production into
clear, pitch-ready
visual stories.
15 years of layout on Dune, Furiosa, Fast X, Game of Thrones + teaching at ARTFX Lille. I help indie directors and students stop wasting months on revisions.

The honest part
You spend weeks tweaking your previs…
and nobody really gets what you're trying to say.
Pacing feels off. Camera work doesn't serve the emotion. Revisions pile up, budget melts, and your confidence takes a hit. I've watched this exact movie play out on 50+ projects. It's not your talent. It's the trenches nobody warned you about.

Greg is an invaluable mentor for students who need a seasoned professional's perspective. I would work with him again without hesitation.
Frederic Vico
Head of 3D Animation — ARTFX Lille
The way he brings in emotion in a story are highly valuable and appreciated. No matter the type of project (2D, CG, VFX), he always adds depth and meaning. And he brought the whole team chocolate!
Maureen Trippe
Educational Coordinator
He is deeply committed and spends the time necessary to guide the students' movies in the right direction. Any school or studio would be lucky to have his expertise.
Thomas Spony
CG Supervisor — ARTFX Lille
Students I coached went from stuck pacing to festival-ready short films.
For Schools & Programs
I teach the next generation what the trenches actually taught me.
Guest instructor at ARTFX Lille. I run layout and visual narration workshops for 4th- and 5th-year students.
No theory. Real fixes. Students leave with clearer pacing, stronger camera logic, and the confidence to defend their vision.
"Greg demonstrated excellent teaching skills. He supported every group with a positive and supportive approach, adapting easily to a wide variety of film styles. He helped students overcome staging challenges while fully respecting their creative vision."
Frédéric Vico
Head of 3D Animation — ARTFX Lille
"I can easily recommend Greg as a Layout instructor and colleague. He stands out for his understanding of the overall production workflow and deadlines, as well as his ability to write stories and bring them to life visually."

Before / After
From broken pacing and endless revisions to festival-ready short film in 3 weeks.
The struggle: An ARTFX L5 student came to me three months in. Twelve versions of the same sequence. Pacing dragged, the emotional climax landed flat, and the camera kept fighting the action instead of serving it. Sound familiar?
What we fixed: Stripped the sequence back to intent. Rebuilt camera logic around the character's emotional beats. Cut three shots that were doing nothing and added one slow push that changed everything. Locked pacing with a 6-frame rule for breath.
The outcome: Three weeks later the short was screened at the school's end-of-year jury, selected for two student festivals shortly after. No more revision spiral. Just a director who finally trusted her own film.
Why Me
My Unfair Edge
I respect your unique vision. I almost burned out twice trying to impose mine on other people's films. Never again. My job is to make your story land harder, not turn it into mine.
01
Big-studio cinematic eye
15 years on Dune, Furiosa, Fast X, GoT. I know what reads on screen — and what gets cut in the edit.
02
Battle-tested in the trenches
Paris, Montreal, Sydney. 50+ projects. I've made every mistake already, so you don't have to.
03
Empathetic, never dictatorial
I don't tell you 'do it this way.' I show you multiple viable paths and help you pick the one that's truly yours.
Questions
Things people
actually ask.
How long does the support take?
Depends on the offer. The Quick Pre-Prod Rescue is a single 90–120 min session. The Narrative Clarity Audit runs 2–3 weeks. The Visual Story Accelerator is a monthly engagement with a 2-month minimum so we have enough runway to actually move the needle.
Is this only for professionals or also for students?
Both. I work with indie directors and small studios in active production, and with ARTFX / e-artsup graduates and current students preparing thesis films or first commissioned work. Student rates available — just ask in the diagnostic call.
Do you do technical layout work or only narrative/story guidance?
My job here is visual narration and story clarity, not executing your shots. I help you make the right creative and camera decisions so your team (or you) can layout with intent. If you need hands-on layout production work specifically, we'll talk about it.
I’m based outside France, does this work?
Absolutely. I've worked with productions in Paris, Montreal, Sydney and remotely with teams across Europe and North America. Sessions run on Zoom or Google Meet. I adjust to your timezone within reason.
How do we start?
Book the free 20-min Story Diagnostic. We look at where you're stuck, I tell you honestly whether I can help, and if yes, we pick the offer that fits. No hard sell. If it's not a match, I'll point you somewhere better.
— Last Call —
Ready to escape revision hell and make your story land?
20 minutes. No pitch. Just an honest conversation about what's blocking your film and whether I'm the right person to help.
